After riding for 13yrs, I finally have use for a cut and decided on this one for several reasons. I wanted collarless since I'll often wear it over a jacket, but also wanted club style, straight bottom. I compared this to the FMC Gambler (a fine cut at a significantly higher price) and the UNIK 2611 (heavier leather and wider shoulders). This HL product competes with both of them at a lower price, and also has outer chest pockets, which is almost unheard of if you're going collarless. What this didn't have was internal cell phone pockets, which the competing products have and which I would have liked. I suppose I can get them sewn in if I really want them. The liner on this cut is lighter and smoother than the UNIK (less canvas, more poly). All the choices I looked at had the CCW pockets, for what they're worth. (As someone with a lot of training I would not carry there.) I like the steel snaps and prefer them to the blacked out look. Because this cut is a little lighter (still very good quality) and has narrower front shoulder areas, it should allow for more air on hot days and weigh less on rainy ones. All-around great purchase. Only other thing I'll mention is that HL puts a conspicuous outer tag on their stuff for all to see, which I immediately cut off with careful scissor work.

This vest had all the features we were looking for. Softer leather, pockets large and lenght is a great fit. Prize was awesome.
